Gaia Stella is an award-winning illustrator and author from Milan, Italy. She has authored and illustrated picture books and novelty books for Italian and international publishers, including hélium, La Joie de Lire, De La Martinière Jeunesse, Mondadori, Einaudi. She's done editorial illustrations for clients such as The New York Times, Vogue Bambini, The Boston Globe. Gaia’s colorful and geometric imagery is inspired by a variety of (sometimes unexpected) sources: architecture by Mies Van De Rohe, a chair designed by Gio Ponti, photos by René Maltête, illustrations by Vladimir Lebedev, short stories by Gianni Rodari, and the packaging of Asian food.
"A Mushy Day" is an original work by Gaia Stella, depicting a scene from "Something is about to happen on a serpentine road." In this scene, a bear on a wall leisurely watches as a snake chases a mouse on an asphalt road and licks an ice cream. The Mushy Day pattern, featuring only the image of the bear, is created by selecting and repeating the pattern, matching light gray with a solid brown color to bring the warm tone and texture of the original work to a 40s fabric.
Mushy days, are my favorite ones. They are not too many, but luckily they come. A mushy day is crumpled, flipped, sticky, dazzling, and fearless. Today is a mushy day, from soup to nuts.
Mushy Day Duvet Covers are made of soft 40s plain fabric with the same Mushy Day pattern on both sides. It is a single-layer zipper-type cover without stuffing, allowing you to insert a suitable thickness of stuffing for use.
